About the client and role

Our client, a Leading Engineering Service Supplier, is seeking a Cyber Security SME to be responsible for providing specialized expertise in cybersecurity, analyzing and implementing security measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to the development of robust security strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level consulting services to clients, covering all facets of cybersecurity, such as risk assessments, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity strategies, and incident response.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of clients’ IT environments, identifying vulnerabilities, and offering recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard clients’ information assets’ confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Lead and oversee cybersecurity projects, managing all phases from planning and execution to monitoring and reporting on outcomes.
  • Offer technical expertise and guidance to internal teams, including SOC analysts, incident responders, and other cybersecurity professionals.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, providing thought leadership on emerging cybersecurity issues.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to design and deliver cybersecurity awareness training programs.
  • Conduct research and analysis on cybersecurity topics, generating reports, whitepapers, and documentation to share insights and best practices.
  • Actively participate in industry forums, conferences, and events to remain connected with the cybersecurity community, representing the company as a cybersecurity SME.
  • Contribute to pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise in cybersecurity proposals and presentations to prospective clients.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Accumulate 7-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, emphasizing consulting or advisory roles.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in cybersecurity concepts, best practices, and technologies, encompassing risk assessment, incident response, access controls, network security, endpoint security, cloud security, and identity and access management.
  • Hold industry crtifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or other relevant credentials.
  • Showcase experience in leading and managing cybersecurity projects, covering project planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effectively conveying complex cybersecurity concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, providing innovative solutions to intricate cybersecurity challenges.
  • Possess knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards like GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, etc.
  • Have experience in conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and formulating cybersecurity strategies for organizations of diverse sizes and industries.
  • Showcase the ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
